Wondering what the heck I’ve been up to the past couple months?
While I’ve been neglecting my blog, I haven’t been short of things to say…I’ve just been prepping and planning for good things to come (as well as doing heaps and heaps of Pilates)
At the end of April I finished up at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition. After 20 months of classroom lectures with my nose in my nutrition books, I can FINALLY say that I’m a CERTIFIED NUTRITIONAL PRACTITIONER. I can officially apply the letters ‘CNP’ after my name.
In case you’re wondering…what a Certified Nutritional Practitioner does, let me briefly explain.
A CNP believes that every individual is biochemically unique and they assess nutritional imbalances and weaknesses.
CNP’s can develop a nutritional program that is completely unique to you based you your food preferences, intolerances, sensitivities, lifestyle and genetic predispositions.
My first experience with a CNP was life changing and I met her just when I needed to. You know how sometimes you don’t realize how much pain your in, until the pain subsides…it was sort of like that. My body had been crying for a change and as soon as I gave it was it needed (which was simply wholesome food), I felt like my body was singing.
3 major changes happed:
1) I became smarter. It sounds ridiculous but its true. I gained this wild creativity that I hadn’t felt since I was a child.
2) I became happier. I realized that life is good, people are awesome and mood swings were a thing of the past.
3) I became hotter. I lost 20lbs effortlessly. I dropped from 140lbs to 120lbs without excessive exercise or cutting calories. I actually think I started consuming more calories, but they were always calories that came from natural, real foods.
I felt like myself again. Actually I felt better then I ever had before. It was so crazy.
And that’s why I’m so passionate about this food and health stuff. It is so powerful and strange and awesome.
And now I am a professional and I get teach others how to transform their lives. Woohoo!
